-Nature is open all the time and when we wanted to create an offer that is always open, it was very appropriate to do it out in nature, on well-established hiking trails. There is a lot of beauty in the forest that is easy to walk past, now visitors can stop and learn more along the way, says Runhild Dammen, general manager of the predator visitor center in Stor-elvdal municipality. The visitor center uses the app Voice Of Norway both in teaching and as an offer to visitors.

– With the Voice Of Norway smart guide, the Coastal Pilgrims Path will be available all year round. The guide, who is on his own mobile phone, tells the story of the place the walker is at, and the information is available around the clock, says Laila Skaret, general manager at the Gurisenteret in Smøla, which is the northernmost of the 4 pilgrimage centers along the Coastal Pilgrims’ Trail.

– Peace prize winners Dmitry Muratov and Maria Ressa’s messages are important. Right now, they are working under very difficult conditions in their home countries with, among other things, a ban on leaving the country and strict censorship. Thus, it is interesting to explore new ways of sharing their message. In Norway, we have committed ourselves to follow UNESCO’s Convention on the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, and it is the Cultural Council that is responsible for implementing this UNESCO Convention. We have looked at the possibilities for sustainable dissemination and protection of both intangible and tangible cultural heritage.
– In order to deliver on our vision of “more and more satisfied customers”, the travel experience and entertainment on board is an area of focus, says Linn Therese Blindheim, customer experience advisor, Vy tog Vest. The audio guide on Bergensbanen was launched in May 2022.
-We have a lot of visitors all summer, and now we want to make all the good things we have available all year round, says Harald Alvavoll, and talks about a forward-leaning municipality that has a close collaboration between Hotel Ullensvang, Alvavoll Frukt & Sidergard and The Fjords .

We get many questions from our guests and they are very pleased when we can tell stories from the place. We now give all guests the same opportunity for guided experiences through the Voice Of Norway audio guide.
– Our tourists want to learn more about Norway and we have done something about that! We meet visitors in their own mother tongue, and now offer audio guides in 11 languages, says Per Lykke at the Hardangervidda National Park Center in Skinnarbu. Our own guides top it all off with more information for those who are particularly interested, and we see this as a great success!
With poor hearing, it was difficult for Trude to be able to offer guiding in the beautiful Jevnaker Hage. Guiding was one of the criteria for becoming a certified Permaculture visitor centre, a so-called LAND centre. The place is always open to everyone, and has a great diversity of members and visitors of all ages and from different cultures. With the audio guide solution, we feel that we can offer a very good offer to all visitors and we thus also have the opportunity to apply to become a LAND centre, exults initiator Trude Skåre Johansen.
– The audio guide is part of the good hospitality and we want our visitors to discover places and things they did not know before. At Midsund you can, among other things, walk Norway’s longest continuous staircase, spend the night in a hammock, rent kayaks and bicycles, fish and hear the most wonderful stories in the audio guide while you experience the area here, Hilde Bergebakken says.
-Here in Karasjok, we have many visitors who come to look at the architecturally beautiful building, which the Sami Parliament is. Usually we hold tours inside the building, but in connection with the pandemic we have now had a great audio guide made that will give our visitors a tour of the outdoor area around the Sami Parliament, says Siv Eli Vuolab.
– We have chosen to offer an audio guide since we see it as a natural part of our digital everyday life. The mobile is always with you and thus you also have a guide at all times. The service is free and we invite both guests and permanent residents to take the trip around Nesset, and experience a little more along the way.
