Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 16, 2018

Updated: August 29, 2021

Guide To Go AS («us», «we», or «our») operates the website and the Voice Of Norway mobile application (the «Service»).

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data. Our Privacy Policy for Guide To Go AS is managed through Free Privacy Policy.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

Information Collection And Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Types of Data Collected

What information does Guide To Go AS collect and process, and for what purpose?

Guide To Go provides two kinds of services: it delivers multimedia guides to users and it allows people to create multimedia guides. We collect different types of data for different purposes, depending on how you use our services, as we discuss further below.

Data collected when you use our mobile VOICE OF NORWAY (VON) app

If you want to use our mobile app to listen to multimedia guides, you can do so without creating an account.

The app may offer the option to create a user account. If so, you will have to provide your name, email address and password. You may alternatively log in using your Facebook-, Google- or Apple-account. If so, the VON app will have access to the information stored and/or accessible in these accounts, including your timeline and/or newsfeed, in accordance with the permissions granted to it by you.

Some information is automatically collected when you use the mobile app: your browsing history within the app, location and your mobile device and operating system. This information is collected through Google Services (Firebase, Crashlytics and Analytics) and Mixpanel, for general statistics.

GUIDE TO GO AS can use this information to:

  • allow you to use the app;
  • save audioguides and points of interest and audioguides that you have marked as favourites to My Library;
  • communicate with you about the app and respond to any complaints and/or questions;
  • communicate with you about GUIDE TO GO AS and/or its products;
  • analyse the use of the app (including by means of Google Analytics); and protect, adjust and update GUIDE TO GO’s services, in particular the app.

GUIDE TO GO may also process information collected via the mobile app to share aggregated information with certain content providers. For example, GUIDE TO GO may share with a certain content provider how long users listended to a specific point of interest on average in the past month. It will, however, not be possible for content providers to identify particular users from this aggregated data.

When you use our VON app, some information is automatically collected. This may include information such as the operating system (“OS”) running on your device, internet protocol address (“IP Address”) (which may be used to obtain your geolocation), access times and language settings of the OS. We also collect information about how you use the VON app, including the elements you have interacted with, metadata and other details about these elements, clicks, change states and other user actions.

Usage Data

We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access the Service by or through a mobile device («Usage Data»).

This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
